WARNING! I will be using the word “shit” throughout this article because it is how I speak and how I express myself. Do not read further if you are offended by this word, however, it is the only curse word I will use.
Are you credit smart but shit still happened? Yes? Well me too!
Shit can happen to the best of us. I was recently sharing my story with a group of women whom I was speaking to and there to share the 5 Critical Credit Mistakes and How to Avoid Them (that will be a topic for another blog) when I realized that bad things happen to good people! Even though I had entered into the banking industry at the ripe age of 17 and they had to hide me for 6 months until I was old enough to be fingerprinted. Even though I had worked my way up to sitting in a nice cushy office next to the President of the bank and held the title of Vice President, and even though I lectured other folks on the fact that their credit report is their report card for life, shit still happened!
It can be outside of our control and it can be within our control but shit can still happen! Do not assume that I am just young and it was bad timing. Bad timing, YES…Young, NO.
So today is truly about giving yourself a break and using what you have learned and some of your life’s experience to step into your greater self and possibly work with people who can benefit from your experience. Do you know what your purpose in life is? Do you know how to take something that you learned a lesson in and make it work for you? Or are you where I use to be? Floundering and knowing that I hadn’t quite found my calling until NOW.
I took the turtles trail in repairing my own credit and when I learned that there was a much better way, I couldn’t have been more excited. When I say that I took the long road, I wasn’t kidding…it took me 6 years to regain credit. On the flip side, it only took 6 months of dispute letters to remove 10 derogatory items from my report! Who knew?
You may not have any interest in helping others and may just need the help yourself…that’s okay as I am here to work with you. You may not have an interest in taking what you know and earning a second income…that’s okay too as I am here to work with your referrals. You may not care to retire with more income than you are earning now…that’s okay too as I don’t know what your goals are in life. However, if you would like to have a conversation about your goals, about some of the shit that you have experienced and how you can take that experience and change the trajectory of your own goals to play, then reach out to me and let’s have a quick conversation and check out how you can create GOOD things happening to GOOD people!
- Take a piece of paper and list out some of the BAD things you have experienced in your life.
- Take a highlighter and highlight the ones that you learned the most from.
- Make a star next to the ones that intrigued you the most.
- From the ones that are starred, feel into them and identify the one that would give you most joy to save another person from going through the same shit you did.
- Take action on that interest. If it is in the realm of credit, click here and reach out to me for a complimentary coaching session.
As always, if you have errors on your credit reports or items that do not belong to you and you are not having success getting them removed, please take action and contact me for help.
